In order to verify your WordPress website, follow the steps in this manual.
1. Click on the Sites section of your Monetag account and choose the "Add site” option, then enter your website domain name and click on “Add site” button:
2. Wordpress sites can be verified in 3 different ways.
The first option is to use our official Monetag plugin. It allows publishers to manage ad formats directly from the WordPress panel. Download and install the plugin, click the Check verification button from your WordPress admin panel and your website will be verified automatically. That's easy!
If you feel like you want to work with other verification methods please click on the Other options near to the Install and verify button:
The second option works if you have access to the root folder of your site (a directory containing all files and subfolders). In most cases it's not recommended to make changes in your WordPress files, however you may still access your WordPress root directory from cPanel dashboard or using a FTP client. Working with this verification option, you should download the provided sw.js file and save it in the root folder of your site.
The third option is inserting our verification meta tag into the site's source code. This method has proved to be the most accurate one and helps if other options are not working for you. In this case you should copy the verification meta tag and place it between the <head> and </head> tags in the site's source code (header section).
Copy the provided code then log into your WordPress Dashboard and go to the Appearance section (Theme File Editor):
From the Theme Files in the right column, choose Theme Header (header.php) file, then paste the Monetag verification tag to the editor below the <head> tag:
3. If you followed the second or third way of verification you should go back to your Monetag account and click the "Verify" button:
